Latchways is a group of companies dedicated to protecting the safety of individuals working at height.
The Latchways ManSafe fall protection range is used around the world on tall buildings and structures as diverse as office blocks, industrial units, leisure and retail complexes, telecommunications towers, bridges and electricity pylons. The products themselves are innovative in their design and manufactured to the highest quality. In turn, a global network of specialist approved partner companies provides the assurance that product quality is matched by equally high standards of installation and maintenance.
Now Latchways are set to revolutionise the rescue process with the introduction of the PRD (Personal Rescue Device) which utilises innovative & patented design technology.
The lightweight, unobtrusive PRD is contained in a small ‘back pack’ attached to a fall safety harness. In the event of a fall the device lowers the faller gently to the ground in a controlled descent.
Latchways approached ASG to assist & work with them on the design, development & supply of the back pack element. They required a talented, focused and expert supply partner to bridge the gap between the inner innovative workings of the PRD and the required exterior profile.
The brief was to design a back pack that would hold the PRD, cover form & function and not distract from the overall safety elements of the core product. All materials & elements had to be robust and user freindly, but still offer the required sleek appearance.
The ASG developed & supplied back pack conforms to BS EN 13463-1:2001 equipment group 11 category 2.
